Veteran beekeepers with share their knowledge on what new beekeepers must do to manage their colony successfully throughout summer and into fall and winter.

We will break into small groups for hands on hive openings led by our senior beekeepers.  New beekeepers will have a chance to learn close up what to look for during a weekly hive inspections.

Experienced Beekeepers will open a hive and demonstrate what needs to be done in the beehive to prepare it for the long winter months.  Food stores and feeding, treatmentsm, brood rearing, wrapping and winter care of the hive will be covered.  This is a must for new beekeepers hoping to overwinter their hives successfully.  We hope to see you there.

Please bring protective equipment, folding chairs and sunscreen.
